چکیده

Pyrolysis chars derived from rice wastes were chemically activated and used in W(VI) oxyanion adsorption assays synthetic mining wastewaters. For comparison purposes, a commercial carbon (CAC) was also used. Different experimental conditions tested the assays: solid/liquid ratio (S/L), initial pH, contact time, W concentration. The porous P2C+KOH presented overall best performance both media, due to its high surface area (2610 m2 g−1), mesopore volume (1.14 cm3 neutral pHpzc (6.92). In wastewater, highest uptake capacity of (854 mg g−1) found with an S/L 0.1 g L−1, pH 2, concentration 150 for 24 h. This value almost 8 times higher than one obtained CAC (113 g−1). showed even (1561 assay same conditions, which 3 (561 These results suggest that seems be efficient alternative liquid effluents.

Highly porous S-doped carbons

Porous sulphur-doped carbons have been prepared by using polythiophene (PTh) as carbon precursor and KOH as activating agent. The activation process was carried out under several operating conditions, i. e. a KOH/PTh weight ratio of 2 or 4, and reaction temperatures in the 600-850 oC range. The porous carbons thus obtained exhibit very large apparent surface areas and high pore volumes of up to...

Adsorption Efficiency of Iron Modified Carbons for Removal of Pb(II) Ions from Aqueous Solution

Abstract Introduction: The Lead causes severe damage to several systems of the body, especially to bony tissues. Until now, several low-cost biosorbents have been studied for removal of heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions. In the present study, carbonized pomegranate peels modified with Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions and then it was investigated for removal of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solution. ...

LaCo0.5Fe0.5O3 Nanoparticles as a Highly Efficient Adsorbent for Rapid Removal of Trypan Blue Dye From Aqueous Media

Nanoparticles of perovskite-type LaCo0.5Fe0.5O3 (LCFO) were fabricated by sol–gel method.Thermal decomposition process of the complex precursor was examined by means of differentialthermal analysis–thermal gravimetric analysis (DTA/TGA). X-ray diffraction (XRD) resultsshowed that single perovskite phase has been completely formed after calcination at 750 °C. Inaddition, the surface morphology a...

Study on the Application of Cucurbit[6]uril as a Nanoporous Adsorbent for the Removal of 2,4-Dinitrophenol from Wastewaters

In the present study, cucurbit[6]uril was used as a nonporous adsorbent for the removal of 2,4-dinitrophenol from aqueous solutions. The experiments were carried out in a batch system to optimize operation variables such as pH of solution, contact time, adsorbent dose and salt concentration. Langmuir, Freundlich and Tempkin isotherms were applied for the explanation of experimental data. The hi...
